Thanks, kristinknits! I think it’s the border that makes it lie flat – I think this one is just four or five rows of knit stitches only, and then from there on, I knit the first five stitches and last five stitches on every line without exception, and I just do one line of knit, and the next purl for the non-border part…

….. erm, clearly I will never make it as a pattern-writer.

I have only tried the multiple needle approach – it’s a bit tricky at first, but really quite easy once you get going. The cool thing about knitting socks is that to produce stockinette stitch you just keep knitting every round (rather than knit one row, purl one row, etc.) I just posted some new ones on facebook that were really easy…

I haven’t been brave enough to try socks!! Do you knit yours on round needles, or three (well, four) sticks?

ahah, yah i’m in school FOREVER! Another 3 years, I think. Yeeeehaw. I’ll be 30 when I’m finally done.

Knitting doesn’t seem to happen much in the summer. I finished another pair of socks, but that was a month ago now….

Thank you! And yep! Cotton yarn. I love to knit/crochet with it (which, I think, is why I’m on such a dishcloth kick).

I hope that you get to knit as much as you want soon! Are you still doing school?

I love it! Is that cotton yarn? I am mildly obsessed with knitting and I haven’t been able to do as much as I’d like lately…:(
